Update from our July 1st meeting

Jenbach station, Tyrol

At our meeting we had an interesting discussion centered around holiday photographs.  It was great to meet Andrew’s brother Dominic who is over from Sydney, Australia.  Dominic has worked as a professional in the film industry and is a keen photographer.  He shared some experiences and gave us all some tips.

Simon brought along some examples of his annual photo books. He produces one every year and it is a really useful way to catalogue and display family or holiday photographs.Simon uses ‘Photobox’ to produce the albums online and the results look very professional.

We agreed on the subject for this year’s long-term project.  The Grand Union Canal.  The idea is that over the next six months or so we all go out individually and take photographs based on this theme.  In January we will spend some time sorting and selecting a set of these photographs for a club photo book or annual exhibition.  So get shooting.

Next time we meet we will be going on a local photoshoot.  We will meet at The Mill at 10.00 and then take a few cars to Cassiobury Park. So bring outdoor clothing and cameras, etc.  Lets hope we get some sunshine this time!

Some of you have had trouble with the menu buttons on the home page due to the font colour being almost the same as the background.  I haven’t found a way to change the font colour, so the background image will be changed instead!
